Does Jesus Hate Religion? Kinda, Sorta, Not Really

I saw that video that a lot of people have been taking about. “Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus.” It was quite an impressionable video that captured a lot of people’s emotion against religion. However, it was very clear on some of his statements.

One of our core values at SummitRDU Worship is that our singing should be congregational.  I wanted to share this video because it highlights this same truth but from a perspective and style quite different from the Summit.  The guy in the video says that we should not think of our church as a “concert hall”, but as “a banquet hall where we come to participate in something together.”  This is something I need to be constantly reminded of.  It does not matter how tight the band is, how professional the musicianship is, or how fancy our production is, if the congregation is not participating then we have missed the point.
