A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to shoot some photos for ultra5280 blog. I had a blast shooting and it was quite a rush. I only got the first 3 songs of each band’s set to shoot and those 3 songs felt like seconds. I hope to get more opportunities in the future. Check out my flickr for some more shots.

Cool remix of The Young Giant - My Body(Two Door Cinema Club Remix)
After we came back from running some errands last night I felt like playing my friend Andy’s piano. So I set my iPhone to record and this is what came out.
We’ve been holding on to it till he gets his own place and I don’t mind having it around. I wouldn’t call myself a piano player, but I like to tickle the ivories here and there. This song is in no reflection to my trip running errands. However, it might be in reflection to the interesting day at work I had.

One of our core values at SummitRDU Worship is that our singing should be congregational. I wanted to share this video because it highlights this same truth but from a perspective and style quite different from the Summit. The guy in the video says that we should not think of our church as a “concert hall”, but as “a banquet hall where we come to participate in something together.” This is something I need to be constantly reminded of. It does not matter how tight the band is, how professional the musicianship is, or how fancy our production is, if the congregation is not participating then we have missed the point.
